About Tinden

Tinden is an independent Norwegian cycling brand based in Hemsedal. We design carbon gravel framesets, frame bags and merino wool cycling apparel, tested in the Norwegian mountains and sold directly to riders.

Who is behind Tinden

Tinden is founded and owned by Mauritz Teigen, who lives and rides in Hemsedal, Norway. He comes from a background in sales and company-building and has founded and run several Norwegian consumer brands. Tinden is the one closest to home: it grew out of his own gravel riding in the mountains around the valley and a frustration with race frames that fit nobody well.

Product development is done together with a small group of test riders from the Hemsedal and Hallingdal gravel scene. The Eryx prototypes have been raced at GravelBirken 200, where one of them won the women's 30–35 class in 2026.

Why Tinden exists

Most gravel race frames are drawn for professional riders: long reach, low stack, deep bottom-bracket drop. Riders who are not professionals end up with a bike they fight for six hours instead of one they can hold a strong position on. Tinden Eryx starts from the opposite end — a geometry that most riders can actually use at speed — and builds the carbon, the clearance and the storage around that.

The second reason is control. By designing everything ourselves and selling directly to riders, the money goes into carbon, fabric and testing rather than into a distribution chain. We release products in small, numbered drops rather than seasons, so each product gets the time it needs.

Where it is designed and tested

Tinden is named after the 1 349 m peak above Hemsedal. The workshop sits at the foot of the mountain, and every product is ridden on the gravel roads, forest roads and mountain passes around the valley — in rain, snow, wind and the kind of long descents that find every weakness in a frame or a jersey — before it reaches you.

Carbon framesets are produced by a specialist carbon manufacturer to Tinden's own layup and geometry; frame bags and merino garments are made by European and Asian partners who specialise in each product. Final assembly, quality control and the transfer-build service happen in Hemsedal.
